Datagrip is an awesome IDE by JetBrains to connect and work with all databases available on the internet now these days.

In this tutorial, we will connect the Oracle database to the DataGrip IDE.



Connect to Oracle Database

1.  Launch the DataGrip IDE

2.  Click on add new or press ALT+INSERT. It will show a prompt with some options. You have to choose Data Source > Oracle.

3.  After clicking on Oracle there opens a new window. There you have to fill all the necessary configurations to connect with your database.

4.  Now we will fill all the configurations to connect the IDE with our database.

Field Description
Name Name of the database
Comment Any comment for database
Host IP address of the host. (localhost for local machine)
Port Port for the connection
Comment Any comment for database
SID SID of your installed database
Driver Type of driver required for connection
User User name of the database
Password Password of the database

5.  After filling all the configurations, click on the Test Connection.

Click on OK and congrats! You have successfully connected your database to DataGrip IDE.
